I am an environmental scientist and research ecologist with an interest in the evolutionary ecology and conservation of the plants and animals that inhabit tropical savannas and rainforests. I conduct most of my research in Africa on the eastern seaboard of South Africa and in the rift valley of Uganda. I have also conducted research in South-East Asia and Australia. I am currently based in the UK. After 27 years as a full-time university academic I have decided to reduce the pace of life to spend more time with my family. As a consultant, I offer a lifetime of expertise in plant and animal ecology. I also provide a scientific editing service to researchers wishing to publish their research in journals of science.
